His enthusiasm was contagious and I later became head Cross Country coach. That would not have happened without Gene.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Campbell. He was a great teacher and always gave me great advice - whether it was about school or life. He encouraged and supported me as a student and I knew he was someone I could go to if I ever needed to talk. He will be sorely missed. My condolences to his family. - Stacy Proebstle, CHS Class of 2001

Mr. Campbell was a great teacher! I can still hear his voice telling me "Hey Smitty, get to class!" I had him in middle school and high school and he never called me by my first name, always called me Smitty bc my last name was Smith. He will be missed. My prayers to his family.
