Condolence & Memory Journal

Dear Allison, I am so sorry to learn of your Dad's passing. He and I had spoken just a short time ago about furnishing my living room. He was very kind to me after Jack's passing. His humor was dry snd when a group of us went to a memorial dinner for a WCHS coach, we got hysterical when he offered to carry me from my car to Bill Leahy's car, who transporting us to affair. I would be happy to send you the picture. It's great.

I want to pass on my condolences to the family of Charles Harvey and his brother, Joseph Charles was my first cousin; his mother Francis was my father's sister. He was always an upbeat person and positive about the future, and his business. One of my fondest memories is that Charles briefly coached the St. Rita's Grammar School Basketball team of which I was a member. The team was awful and had gone through several coaches. Nevertheless, I invited him to one of the night practices and I can still see him shaking his head. He gathered us together and said you will never win because you are undisciplined and just throwing the basketball at the hoop. You need plays and a plan of attack. I am here to help you with both. Within a month, we got better and began to win games. No, we did not pull off a "Hoosier" miracle and win a championship, but thanks to Charles's advice, we felt better about ourselves as a team and as individuals. Charles was a steadfast leader and taught us the necessity of discipline and hard work. Charles moved on because his college studies were a priority, but we all greatly appreciated giving generously of his time.. I will miss for that and many other reasons. He was a good and fine man .

Though we are deeply saddened by Charles' passing, we have faith in Jehovah God's promise of a resurrection so, we do not sorrow as those who have no hope. (1 Thess. 4:13) Therefore, we have full assurance that Charles will live again. Please accept my sincere condolence.
