Golf Emblem

Anthony D. Nicoletta (Tony), 58, passed away on October 11, 2018 of complications from brain cancer, which he courageously fought for the past 6 months. Tony was a proud native of Cape May County. He served 25 years with honor alongside many dear friends at the Cape May County Sheriff's Department until his retirement in 2008. Tony loved to be with family and friends, especially sharing time with them on the Greens of Cape May County and in Florida. He spent many hours perfecting his golf game while keeping a healthy balance between grandkids and golf balls.

Tony leaves behind his brokenhearted wife of 31 years, Jean Nicoletta (nee Strickland) and children Joseph (Nicole) Nicoletta, Ryan Nicoletta and Katrina Nicoletta. His grandchildren Sophia, Nazareth, Owen and August were the focus of his life and love during his retirement and will forever miss him. Tony is also survived by his father Nazareth Nicoletta and bonus mother Sandra Nicoletta, brothers Michael (Jamie) Nicoletta and Keith (Vui) Nicoletta, as well as his bonus mother-in-law Gloria Butler. He is also survived by numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Pre-deceasing Tony was his mother Carol Nicoletta (nee Hand), mother-in-law Kathryn Butler and father-in-law Alfred Butler.

Tony was an avid sports fan and loved the Phillies, Flyers, Sixers and Cowboys, no, that isn't a typo! Tony loved to laugh and share stories; he was a gentleman, a friend's friend, a man's man and always a gentle soul. Tony believed, lived and taught that there is no greater work in life than just doing the right thing.

Friends and family may visit on Thursday, October 18 at Radzieta Funeral Home at 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House from 9:00 until 11:00 am and services will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will be private. Donations in Tony's memory may be made to Historic Cold Spring Village at 720 US Route 9, Cape May, NJ 08204 or at http://hcsv.org.
