Stained Glass Emblem

Barbara Amy Camp passed away on May 31, 2018 at the Autumn Lakes Care Center in Ocean View, NJ. Barbara was born in Wildwood, NJ to Ira and Ruth Bushay on July 03, 1934. A lifelong resident of Cape May County, she graduated from Middle Township High School on June 6, 1951. She married her high school sweetheart, Charles Camp on November 21, 1953 and the couple made Ocean View their home. She had a life-long passion for education and learning. She earned an associate's degree from Atlantic City Community College in 1980 with highest honors. She then moved on to Glassboro State College, now Rowan University, where she completed her Bachelor's Degree in 1984 and Masters of Arts in 1986. Barbara retired from the Dennis Township School System after 20 years of service as the school's librarian and media specialist. Barbara never lost her enthusiasm for teaching and helping young people; even after her retirement she tutored countless young students in math and reading. Barbara was a devoted Christian, played the organ and piano at numerous local churches, as well as directed several children's and adult choirs. She was known for her generous heart, gracious hospitality, and patriotic spirit. Barbara volunteered with multiple organizations throughout her life including the Boy and Girls Scouts of America, the Ocean View Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Dennis Township PTA, and the Order of the Eastern Star. Barbara was a lifelong sports fan and for many years you could find her cheering on the Middle Township Panthers football, soccer, basketball and wrestling teams. While she loved all sports, her favorite sport was baseball. A fan from a very early age, she was the official score keeper for several regional adult teams. The Philadelphia Phillies held a special place in her heart and she seldom missed a game. In her spare time, she enjoyed ballroom dancing, crafting, traveling, reading, and all things Disney.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Lloyd Bushay. She is survived by her husband, Charles, of nearly 64 years, daughter Charlene Carr, son Charles "Chip" Camp, son-in-law Matthew Carr, and daughter-in-law Therese Camp, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
