HOPKINS, BERNICE ARDELLA, 89, of Mays Landing, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Thomas W. and Rhodella Edwina Hughes, Sr., she moved to New Jersey 20 years ago from Baltimore, MD. While in Maryland, she was a supervisor at Westinghouse and an elementary school teacher. She enjoyed playing Pinochle, shopping, reading, trading stocks, and cooking.

Ms. Hopkins is survived by her surrogate family, Albert and Vanessa Burton of Whitesboro, NJ, Norris and Paulette Anderson of Coatesville, PA, and Victor and Maria Barreira of Catonsville, MD; her granddaughter, Jenna Long of Durham, NC; her special friends, Brendell Turner of Graham, NC and Christine Williams of Maryland; her dear friend, Florence of Cape May; and her dear dear friend, Josephine Hitch of Mays Landing, NJ.

Memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 14, 2017 at Christ Gospel Church, 2209 Route 9 South, Whitesboro. Interment will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Redeemer Hospice, 1801 Route 9 North, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
