Carol Garrison (nee Shaw), 60, of Villas, NJ, departed this life on May 25, 2018. Born in Cape May Court House, she was a life-long resident of Cape May County. She loved dolphins and spent many hours at Douglass Park in North Cape May, watching them frolic. She was a certified EMT and a lifetime member of the Lower Township Rescue Squad. Other than her children, this was her proudest achievement. She was loved by many and was a surrogate mom to many of the kids who frequented her house.
She was preceded by her husband David Garrison, mother Lydia Chester, father Charles (Boonie) Shaw Sr, stepfather (Daddy) Howard Chester, and brothers Michael and Edward Shaw. She is survived by her children, Krystal, Shannon, and Jason Garrison, grandson Jason (Booba) Perez Jr, granddaughter Savannah (Sassy) Dickenson, sister Lydia (Tiny) Shaw, and brothers Carles (Boonie) Shaw II, Mark Shaw, Timothy Shaw, and James Shaw, as well as many nieces and nephews and "adopted" children.
Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018, at Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ, where visitation will be 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Interment will be in Cold Spring Presbyterian Cemetery, Cold Spring, NJ. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
