VALLESE, ELAINE J. (nee McKnight), 79, of Seaville, NJ, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Shore Medical Center. Born in Camden, NJ to the late Robert and Doris Moore McKnight, she was raised in Gloucester City. She graduated from Gloucester High School in 1955 and continued her degree at Cooper Hospital School of Nursing in 1958, where she worked as a surgical nurse until her marriage to Abromo Vallese in 1963. They were stationed at many U.S. Marine Corps bases before moving to Seaville in 1983. She returned to nursing at the Lutheran Home in Ocean View.

Mrs. Vallese was a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish Resurrection Church in Marmora. She was also a member of the Cape May County Nurses Association and the Marine Corps Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking and hosting the Sunday family dinners. Her greatest joy came from the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren in recent years.

Mrs. Vallese is survived by her husband of 54 years, Abromo "Brownie" Vallese; her children, Christopher Vallese, Megan Vallese-Brown (Randy), Karin Gracci (Vincent), Susan Vallese, and Matthew Vallese (Dianne); and her seven grandchildren, Joshua, Riley, Alexander, Nathaniel, Marissa, Gianna, and Dominic.

Funeral Mass will be said on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish Resurrection Church, 200 West Tuckahoe Road, Marmora, NJ 08223, where visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be private in Arlington National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish.
