THOMPSON, REV. GEORGE E., 91, of Whitesboro, NJ, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018. Born in Swarthmore, PA to the late George E. and Clementine Jones Thompson, he moved to Whitesboro in 1982 from Delaware County, PA. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

Rev. Thompson was pastor of First Baptist Church of Whitesboro from 1982 until 2018. He was a member of the Coalition of Black Clergy of Cape May County and the Bethany Baptist Association.

Rev. Thompson is survived by his brother, Malcolm Thompson of California; his granddaughter, Dana Frye Thompson; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, June C. Jeffrey Thompson; his son, Kenneth A. Thompson; and his siblings, Betty Moten, Dorothy Jones, Helen Jones, Thelma Whitsett, Frances Nicholson, and Robert Thompson.

On Tuesday, March 27, 2018 viewing will be from 5:00 to 6:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Route 9 and Main Street, Whitesboro, NJ with a funeral service beginning at 6:00 pm.

On Thursday, March 29, 2018 viewing will be from 9:00 to 11:00 am at First African Baptist Church, 901 Clifton Avenue, Sharon Hill, PA with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Mount Lawn Cemetery, S 84th St & Hook Rd, Sharon Hill. There will be no final viewing.
