Henry Clay Smith, Jr., 59, of Newark, Delaware, departed this life on August 5, 2018. He was born in Cape May Court House, New Jersey on May 30, 1959 to Henry Clay Smith, Sr. (deceased) and Theresa Smith. He attended Middle Township School Systems through high school. Soon out of high school he worked as a roofer, bus driver for New Jersey Transit, Woodbine Developmental Center, and has been an employee of the casino for over forty years. Henry enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He had a true passion for Mercedes Benz and dogs. He enjoyed relaxing with his pet, Sophie, while engaging in routine talks with his mother, Theresa. He also was a member of the Free Roller's Bike Club and enjoyed listening to R&B Soul while cruising on his motorcycle.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother Theresa Smith of Wildwood, New Jersey, fiancée: Valorie of Delaware, three children: Tyhesha Davis of New Jersey, Antoinette Freeman of Atlanta, Georgia, Lyric Nataya Smith of Newark, Delaware, four grandchildren, six brothers: Vernon Bantum, Derick Ennis, Ira Smith, Royce Smith, Vincent Smith, Brian Smith, two sisters: Felicia Smith and Javetta Moore, and a host of brothers in law and sisters in law, cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and special friends. He was predeceased by his father, Henry Clay Smith, Sr. and his daughter Nataya Green. Henry Clay Smith, Jr. was a loving father, brother, companion and friend, and will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 46 East Atlantic Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210. Viewing will be from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Service will start at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Woodbine Cemetery, Woodbine, NJ.
