BROWN, MARION EDITH, age 93, passed away on the morning of January 7th, 2018, after a short illness. Marion was born in Philadelphia as the youngest daughter of John Simpson Brown and Margaret Jane (Johnston) Brown. She graduated from Roxborough High School and proudly spent her professional career working at Temple University in the Office of the Registrar. As a young woman, Marion would vacation down the shore with her family. When her future husband, Lou Bachmann, purchased Smugglers Cove in Stone Harbor, Marion and her sister Sallie began taking the Shore Fast Line to-and-from Roxborough to Stone Harbor nearly every day. Each summer weekend Marion could be found with her toes in the sand – happily reading a book or knitting one of the countless baby blankets or sweaters that she lovingly gave to any child that came into her life. Upon retiring from Temple, Marion joined Lou full-time and they enjoyed a life that included many a fine meal, travel, and hosting innumerable guests in their home, until Lou's passing in August of 2016. (And, for those who knew Lou, we can only imagine that he greeted Marion on January 7th with a hearty, "What took you so long!")

Marion attended Our Saviour Lutheran Church, and was active in WELCA. She also volunteered with the Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce.

In addition to her husband, Marion was predeceased by her sisters, Laura Jane Raudenbush, Sarah Mae "Sallie" Brown, Jacqueline Doris Brown (infant), and Helen Margaret Harwick.

She is survived by her niece Jayne Lare (Clark) and nephew John Raudenbush (Denise), as well as great-nephews Pete Ault, Matthew Ault, and Steven Raudenbush along with their families, a great-niece Johanna Rossfield along with her family, and many cousins here and in Germany that were near-and-dear to her heart.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, January 27th, 2018 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 9212 Third Avenue, Stone Harbor, NJ 08247, where friends may call from 11:00am with repast to follow in the church hall. Charitable donations may be made to Our Saviour Lutheran Church.
