GARCIA, PATRICIA, 83, of Avalon, NJ, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017 at her home. She was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Thomas Joseph and Mary Phelan Reilly. Pat started her career at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital as a medical technician. She moved to Avalon in 1962 with her late husband, Dr. Rodolfo Garcia to open their family medical practice. She was a lifelong member of St. Brendan the Navigator Parish in Avalon.
Pat dedicated her time to managing the family medical practice and raising her three sons. She was a kind soul and loved by everyone that met her. Her greatest joy was time spent with her children and grandchildren. She took pleasure in watching her sons play sports and never missed a game. One of her greatest joys was playing games with her grandchildren. Pat loved living at the beach and entertaining friends and family. She was an avid reader and an active member of the Avalon Senior center where she enjoyed various activities such as bingo, cooking, and spending time with friends.
Pat is survived by her children, Rudy (Christy) Garcia, Andrew (Lisa) Garcia, and Mark (Mary) Garcia; her eight grandchildren, Rudy (Kelly), Christopher, Timothy, Andrew, Daniel, Nicholas, Julianna and Aaron; her three great grandchildren, Saphira, Ava, Chase; niece, Mary Paz (Brock) Russell; and great nephews Ernest (Erica) and Diego. She is also survived by her dear friends, Wilda and Jack Richardson, and family. She was predeceased by her husband, Rodolfo Garcia, her mother, Mary Holotik, her father Thomas Joseph Reilly and her stepfather, John Holotik.
Funeral Mass will be said on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Brendan the Navigator Parish, Maris Stella Chapel, 25th Street and First Avenue, Avalon, where visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cold Spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215.
