Rosaleen Patricia Law-Wadaga, (Gribbon) of Cape May Court House, NJ, (82) passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 5, 2018. Born the daughter of the late John and Annie Gribbon, on June 23, 1936, Rose grew up in Kearny, NJ with her two loving brothers Jack and Joseph, who pre-deceased her. Rose graduated from New Jersey City University with a teaching degree. Rose began her career teaching elementary as well as pre-school students, prior to teaching adults.
Rose first married John J. Law and gave the gift of her three children to the world: John M. Law, Patricia Curcuru (Pio) and Kathleen Weatherby (Drew). Rose lived in Livingston, Avalon, and Cape May Court House, NJ. She shared the last 35 years with her best friend and husband John F. Wadaga.
In addition to her spouse, her children and their spouses, Rose leaves behind her dear sister-in-law Shelia Gribbon as well as her beloved grandchildren: Michael (Christine), Katlyn, Andrew, Thomas, and Delia Rose. In recent years, Rose and Delia Rose enjoyed happy adventures to the library, park, and zoo. Rose was recently blessed to hold the newest member of the family, Loralie, her great grandchild.
A former Irish dancer in her youth, Rose loved learning, reading, gardening, swimming, yoga, traveling, painting, and walking along the shore as well as in the woods. She delighted in sharing time with her children and grandkids as well as in creating hundreds of stunning works of arts and playing the piano. Rose was an amazing mother and doting grand mom, who loved her family above all and she thanked God for the gift of a wonderful life.
Rose will be profoundly missed by her family and friends. She was a humble and compassionate friend to all she met as well as an advocate for those in need. Generous with her time and talent, Rose chose the field of education to empower the lives of children as well as adults. Rose was truly an Irish rose whose love and positive outlook will forever bloom through her legacy of kindness and creativity.
A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life will be August 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 35 East Mechanic St., Cape May Court House, NJ 08210. In lieu of flowers, at Rose's request, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and/or Amnesty International.
