“Our prayers are with you, we love you, as Dea Ted would say absence from the body presence with the LORD ”

Theodore Wilsey Franklin Jr. (Wookie) was born February 1, 1949 to Joan Brooks and Theodore Franklin in Atlantic City NJ. Theodore attended Pleasantville Senior High School, where he played left tackle for the Pleasantville High Greyhounds. After graduating high school, Theodore went into the United States Coast Guard and served 4 years as an engineer. After leaving the Coast Guard, he worked at 3 M Tape Company, Al's Trucking, The Lobster House in Cape May and South Jersey Gas for 10 years. After leaving South Jersey Gas, Ted went on to start his own painting business, Franklin and Son Painting. After several years, Ted retired from the business.
During a retreat at Man Power the Lord revealed to Ted that Mary Darden was to be his wife. They were united in Holy matrimony on November 25, 1995. Mary (Coconut or Boobo as she was fondly called by Ted), was the love of his life. He was a faithful member of Christ Gospel Love Center where he worked diligently serving as a deacon, a member of the missionary choir, mass choir and a van driver. Anyone that came in contact with Ted would often hear him say the word "FANTASTIC" when asked how he was doing or after hearing good news. No matter what was going on everything was "Fantastic." Most times, you could see Ted wearing a big smile and his love for cake (Coconut and Sweets) was evident. Ted enjoyed being with the young people and working in the community with the elderly. Ted would often quote his favorite scripture- 2 Corinthians 5:8: "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."
